Thara Memory &
Friends Trumpet, piano, tenor sax, drums,
trombone, vocals... Thara works with numerous talented
and renowned artists throughout the Northwest. Depending on
the event and venue, Thara will come up with just the right
combo for the occasion.
Mel Brown
Septet Serving as the Artistic Director, Thara
performs with the Mel Brown Septet on a regular basis at Jimmy
Mak's, a popular jazz club in downtown Portland. All seasoned
jazz musicians, this combo packs the house nearly every week.
Thara Memory and the
Superband
The Superband combines a
broad variety of musical elements to shape its sound. The band
weaves together soul, jazz, rhythm & blues, and classical
music into a rich tapestry designed to hold the audience
spellbound in musical fantasy. This Superband was born in the
late 1990's as a counter balance to the trend toward the
self-limiting, one genre, music ensemble. The group can
delight in an auditorium, arena, school setting, night club,
dance, or concert venue. Its music truly has no boundaries;
that's why it's called the Superband!
